Kelley
When I started Bikram Yoga, I had many complaints that I had just accepted, but soon I saw change.
In 2005 I took a course in Iyengar Yoga as part of my graduation and I have not been able to leave my bending and stretching since then. I have experimented with different styles of yoga: Hatha, Kundalini, Vinyasa and Ashtanga. I followed my first Bikram Yoga class in 2008 in Florida. I felt great afterwards. I bought a monthly card and immediately went back the next day.
From student to teacher
Shortly afterwards I moved to The Hague, where I participated in my first Yoga Asana Championship. After this I followed the Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in San Diego in 2010 and I went to San Francisco to study for a short time with Senior Bikram Yoga teacher Mary Jarvis. I gave my first lesson at her school and then taught at two schools in Florida. In 2011 I came back to Bikram Yoga Den Haag.
Fast change
When I started Bikram Yoga, I had a lot of physical complaints that I just accepted, but soon I saw change. I do not have a slow thyroid gland anymore, my cholesterol level is OK and I have no pain in my lower back. My menstrual cycle is regular, I have to sleep less and eat, and I almost never get sick. And I especially learned to be friendlier and more compassionate towards myself. All Bikram Yoga benefits!
Teaching Yoga
What I find the best about the Bikram Yoga Series is that it is accessible to everyone, regardless of your age or condition. From beginner to pro, everyone benefits from Bikram Yoga. I am very grateful to be a teacher: I continue to learn and I continue to see how my students develop physically, mentally and emotionally.
Bikram Yoga beginner’s tip
Do not let yourself be stopped by an injury or illness, your age or your condition. Bikram Yoga always helps you further.
